Our History

Discover the rich history behind the iconic Hamlin Elevator, a unique landmark in the surrounding area. Unlike any other, this elevator stands as a testament to a bygone era, having remained within the ownership of a single family throughout its existence. Originally conceived and constructed by the pioneering Moore Family, its towering presence has loomed over the landscape since its inception in 1947.

In a testament to its enduring legacy, the Teague family became the second custodians of this storied structure, carrying forward its tradition and heritage. In the early spring of 2023, the Hamlin Elevator, formerly known as the Moore Elevator, found itself under new stewardship, marking a new chapter in its illustrious history.

Comprising two distinct segments, the first portion of the Hamlin Elevator was erected in 1947, followed by a complementary addition in 1954. Together, these structures boast an impressive capacity, capable of storing up to 1,416,000 bushels of grain, serving as a vital hub for agricultural activity in the region.

As a beacon of continuity and resilience, the Hamlin Elevator stands as a living testament to the enduring spirit of familial stewardship and the vital role it plays in shaping the fabric of local communities.
